Since August 2014 Mr Egerer has been COO of the railway company Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG) and the Karlsruhe Transport Company (VBK). Prior to that he worked from 2008 to 2014 as the managing director of the S-Bahn Hannover of Deutsche Bahn Regio AG. Between 1998 and 2008 he worked for Deutsche Bahn AG and was responsible for various executive management tasks and project management tasks. Mr Egerer studied Civil Engineering at the Technical University in Braunschweig, Germany.

Recent Developments in Karlsruhe public transport: preparing for the startup of the new urban railway tunnel, which is currently under construction.
