Presentation: Linking the last mile
Transit organisations are challenged to find new forms of service delivery that meets the demands of the consumer for flexible and on demand services. Developing a good last mile solution is now made possible through new routing algorithms and smart phone computing power. Designing such a solution that meets consumer acceptance and regulatory compliance has often been elusive. Link is one such last mile service solutions currently operating in Tampa, Florida. Lessons learned and the opportunities ahead will be discussed.
